How to copy a Facebook video link, and what each link means
Facebook has at least eight link formats for the same video. Here’s how to get one and which ones work in a downloader.
In the app
Tap Share under the video (or the arrow on a Reel), then Copy link. You’ll get a facebook.com/share/v/… or /share/r/… link.
On a computer
Click the video’s date/time stamp or open it full screen, then copy the address bar. Or use the … menu → Copy link.
Link formats
| Link | What it is |
|---|---|
/reel/123… | A Reel, by ID |
/watch/?v=123… | A video opened in Watch |
/PageName/videos/title/123…/ | A video on a Page |
/share/v/AbC…, /share/r/AbC… | Share-sheet links that redirect to the video or Reel |
fb.watch/AbC… | Short link (older share sheet) |
/groups/…/posts/…, /permalink.php?… | A post that may contain video or photos |
/photo/?fbid=… | A single photo |
/stories/… | A Story (login required: use page source mode) |
FB Media Tools accepts all of these, plus m., web. and mbasic. variants and links buried in copied text.
