Turn a Facebook video into MP3 audio
Paste a link to a video, Reel, live replay or podcast clip. Choose MP3 for compatibility or M4A to keep Facebook’s audio exactly as it is.
- Open the video in your browser while logged in (it must play for you).
- Computer: press Ctrl+U (Mac: ⌥+⌘+U). Android Chrome: add
view-source:before the address. - Select all (Ctrl+A), copy, and paste it below.
Works with Reels, videos, live replays, photos, group posts, and fb.watch or share links
What bitrate should you pick?
Facebook stores most video sound as AAC at roughly 48–130 kbps; in our tests typical uploads came in around 50–75 kbps. Converting to MP3 can’t add detail that isn’t there, so “320 kbps” on a Facebook rip only makes a bigger file.
- M4A (original): Facebook’s own audio stream, copied bit for bit. Best quality, smallest file. Plays on iPhone, Android, Windows and Mac.
- MP3 192 kbps: comfortably transparent for Facebook sources and plays on literally everything, including older car stereos.
- MP3 128 kbps: good for speech, sermons, lectures and podcasts.
We show the source bitrate after you paste a link so you can choose knowingly. MP3 files include the title and Page name as tags.
Common uses
- Saving a live sermon, lecture or talk to listen offline
- Keeping a song or performance you were given permission to use
- Getting your own Reel’s voice-over back as audio
- Transcribing interviews (combine with caption download)
Long videos
Live replays of two hours or more convert fine: the audio stream is small (about 30–60 MB per hour), so even long recordings finish quickly.

Questions & answers
Is 320 kbps MP3 available?
We deliberately offer 128 and 192 kbps. Facebook’s source audio is usually below 130 kbps, so 320 kbps would triple the file size with no audible gain. For maximum quality choose M4A (original).
Can I convert only part of a video?
Yes. Download the video, press Edit, set the trim range and pick MP3. Or use the trimmer with any local file.
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes, in an up-to-date Safari. MP3 encoding needs the audio features in recent iOS versions; if MP3 fails on an older iPhone, choose M4A (original), which needs no conversion and works everywhere. Files land in Files → Downloads.
